Pink Building

A Real Story — How Opportunities Show Up on the Lake

April 11, 20263 min read

A close friend of mine had been living in the Pink Building for years.

She’s a former Chicago Public School teacher and a raw food chef — and she had always dreamed of:

👉 A larger unit
👉 A bigger kitchen
👉 And lake views that matched her lifestyle

She and her partner started looking at other buildings with me…

Exploring options, seeing what was out there.

Then Something Happened

While we were out looking at other places…

👉 A unit in HER building popped up.

The one she had been waiting for.

And She Moved Up

Instead of leaving the building…

👉 She moved up.

Into:

A larger unit
A better layout
The kitchen she had been dreaming about
And beautiful Lake Michigan views

That’s When the Referrals Started

Because she trusted the process…

👉 She referred me to the two sisters

And from there — everything else unfolded.

Real Story — When the Right Lakefront Units Show Up

Lake Front

I was referred to two sisters by a close friend of mine.

My friend had lived in the Pink Building for years — a Chicago Public School teacher and a raw food chef — always dreaming of a larger unit with a bigger kitchen to match her lifestyle.

She knew I understood the lakefront lifestyle and connected me with the sisters.

Two Years of Looking

We had been looking together for almost two years.

We saw units…

But they just weren’t right:

Not the right views
Not the right layout
Not the right feeling

And when you’re buying on the lake?

👉 It has to feel right.

Then Everything Changed in One Day

Last week, a unit came on the market.

👉 I saw it immediately
👉 Texted them right away
👉 We scheduled for the very next morning

We walked in…

👉 And we knew.

This was the one.

Writing the Offer — Right There

We sat down in the unit and asked the agent if we could talk it through.

Next thing we knew:

👉 We were writing the offer right there

She brought us to the building’s library so we could finish everything.

The Only Problem…

👉 They BOTH wanted it.

Not to share.

👉 Each of them wanted their own.

A Smart Move (and a Little Faith)

So they made a decision:

👉 Put both names on the offer
👉 Secure the unit
👉 And when another one came up — one of them would take that

There was a little hesitation.

So we went back and looked at the unit one more time.

And I said something I truly believe:

👉 “One of you should take this… and as soon as you say yes — the next one will show up.”

And Then It Happened (Same Day)

Later that afternoon…

👉 Another unit came on the market
👉 Same tier
👉 Same lake views

We moved immediately:

👉 Scheduled
👉 Saw it
👉 Secured it

Now They Both WILL Live There

👉 Each sister has her own unit
👉 Same building
👉 Same lifestyle
👉 Same connection to the lake

And it didn’t stop there…

My friend’s partner even referred one of his best friends —

👉 Who also bought in the building
👉 And now enjoys those same lake views
👉 Living near someone he already knows

What This Really Shows

This is what lakefront buying looks like:

👉 The right units don’t come up every day
👉 But when they do — you have to be ready
👉 And you have to move

But also…

👉 When you know what you want
👉 And you stay consistent

Things have a way of lining up.

Edgewater High-Rise Living (Including the “Pink Building”)

Pink Building

In Edgewater, especially along the lakefront, you’ll find many of the high-rise buildings people are searching for.

This includes well-known buildings like the Pink Building, where I’ve helped multiple clients:

Buy into the building
Move up into larger units
And even help friends and referrals purchase there

👉 This is a great example of how lakefront living becomes a community within a building.

People don’t just move in…

👉 They stay, upgrade, and bring others with them.
